Namma Metro fares run from ₹10 to ₹90 a journey, set by distance: ₹10 up to 2 km, rising in ₹10 steps to ₹90 above 25 km. Smart card and NCMC users pay 5% less at peak hours and 10% less off-peak, on Sundays and on national holidays. These fares have applied since 9 February 2025; the 5% rise announced for February 2026 was put on hold.

The station-to-station fares in the calculator come from the fare enquiry on BMRCL's official website (english.bmrc.co.in), checked for every one of the 3,403 pairs of open stations on 4 October 2026. The longest journeys, 18% of all station pairs, cost the ₹90 maximum.
What are the smart card discounts and off-peak hours?
A smart card or NCMC card gives 5% off the token fare at all times, and 10% off during off-peak hours, on Sundays and on national holidays. The discount is decided by the time you enter the system, not when you leave.
| When you travel | Smart card or NCMC discount |
|---|---|
| Weekdays, start of service to 8 am | 10% (off-peak) |
| Weekdays, 8 am to noon | 5% (peak) |
| Weekdays, noon to 4 pm | 10% (off-peak) |
| Weekdays, 4 pm to 9 pm | 5% (peak) |
| Weekdays, 9 pm to close of service | 10% (off-peak) |
| Sundays, and 26 January, 15 August and 2 October | 10% all day |
Tokens and QR tickets bought on WhatsApp are charged the full token fare. A smart card costs ₹50, is topped up in multiples of ₹50, and needs a balance of at least ₹90 to enter the system. Groups of 25 to 99 people who enter and leave together at the same stations get 15% off the token fare on a group ticket bought at the counter.
Has the metro fare gone up in 2026?
No. Namma Metro fares in October 2026 are the same as those introduced on 9 February 2025. On 5 February 2026 BMRCL announced a 5% rise under an annual automatic revision, which would have made the minimum fare ₹11 and the maximum ₹95 from 9 February 2026. On 9 February 2026 BMRCL said that announcement had been "kept in abeyance until further orders", and the earlier fares stayed. A proposal reported in July 2026, to raise fares by 12% once every three years instead, has not been adopted. We check this page against BMRCL's fare table and will update it if fares change.

Walking distances for every sector are in our HSR Layout sectors guide, and the full picture of which lines run where, and when the HSR Layout station is expected, is in our HSR Layout metro guide.
Are there Namma Metro day passes?
Yes. BMRCL sells tourist cards for unlimited travel over one, three or five days, priced at ₹300, ₹600 and ₹800 when fares were revised in February 2025. They suit visitors making several trips a day; a commuter making one return journey a day pays less with an ordinary smart card. Day passes are also sold as mobile QR passes in the official Namma Metro app; check the app for the current price before you buy.
Namma Metro ticket rules worth knowing
- Tokens are valid for 30 minutes from purchase for entry, and only on the day you buy them, at the station where you bought them. Re-validating a late token costs ₹5.
- Leave the paid area within 120 minutes of entering if you exit at another station, or within 20 minutes at the same station. Overstaying costs ₹50 an hour, up to ₹100.
- One bag up to 60 × 45 × 25 cm is allowed free per person. Extra or oversized bags need a ₹30 luggage ticket from the customer care centre, or a ₹250 penalty applies.
- Travelling without a ticket costs the maximum token fare plus a ₹200 penalty.
These rules are from BMRCL's published fare rules, checked 4 October 2026.

No. BMRCL announced a 5% increase on 5 February 2026, to take effect on 9 February 2026, but put it in abeyance on 9 February 2026 after public objection. Fares remain those introduced on 9 February 2025, from ₹10 to ₹90. In July 2026 the press reported a proposal for a 12% increase every three years instead, which had not been adopted.
Children shorter than 3 feet travel free on Namma Metro, and BMRCL does not apply an age rule. Everyone taller than 3 feet needs their own token, QR ticket or smart card, because the automatic gates admit one person at a time.
Not as of 4 October 2026. The 7.5 km elevated section of the Pink Line between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere was due for its Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety inspection on 6 to 8 October 2026, which must happen before passenger service. This calculator covers the Purple, Green and Yellow lines, which are open.
